Rataracta is a cozy pastel roguelike with a competitive heart. Time your taps on the spinning ring to hit marbles, draft new special marbles with powerful effects, and watch your numbers cascade into massive payouts. Chase bigger scores across short, replayable runs.

The idea came from looking at the Pop the Lock arcade game and seeing it as a more skillful Cookie Clicker. Turning that into a Balatro-style number chase felt like the obvious next step, and Rataracta is what came out of it.

Also why did I leave the debug mode on? Hm...

Please Note

Rataracta is more prototype than polished release, as is the case with game jam games. It is an experiment in whether blending a skill-based Cookie Clicker with Balatro actually has legs. Personally, I think it does, but I'd love to hear what others think!

Absolutely Adore this game, so much potential

Thank you, and I agree! This is my first project in years where I can see a clear path forward post-jam, and I’m excited to keep building on it. I’ll be putting together a post-mortem devlog with my thoughts on where to take the game next once the voting period wraps up :)

insanely fun, I'm really enjoying it! I feel so lucky to stumble across this as the newest game uploaded, holy cow. I know you said it's a prototype but honestly it seems super polished to me, it feels like a lot of love really went into this <3

Thank you!

I think part of why it turned out so well was because of my partner. She got addicted to the Pop the Lock arcade game two Saturday’s ago and kept talking about it on the way home. So part of my goal here was to make a game she’d actually enjoy playing of mine (she’s a very casual gamer, so my games are usually a little too difficult, lol). That said, I’ve got a lot of ideas and want to keep working on this game post-jam. I’ll be putting out a devlog once the voting period is over to discuss them!
